On January 15th, 1920, granddad arrived in Novorossiysk, which would be his home for three months.On the journey there he mentions orders to stand by for The Green Guards who would feature a lot in his life until his departure in March. I go into theGreen Guarsd a lot more in the book. I am still fascinated that he, a regular soldier, knew as much about the Green Guards, a temporary bandit troop, as we can find out from Google. I think we assume we have superior access to knowledge these days but perhaps our systems for knowledge were in some ways better back before the internet times.
